Patagonia See
To raise awareness on and document the conservation status of the Patagonian Sea (SW Atlantic), I intend to use non-motorized means to traverse the entire Atlantic-facing coastline of Argentina - from the Rio Paraguay to Tierra del Feugo.
The Patagonian Sea (or Southwest Atlantic) is one of the planet’s most important yet highly threatened large marine ecosystems. Home to high productivity and spectacular marine wildlife aggregations, the region is also poorly understood and lacks adequate management regimes to protect it unique coastal and marine resources.
As a means to raise awareness on this region, while simultaneously documenting its current conservation status, I intend to traverse the entire Atlantic-facing coastline, north to south, using non-motorized means. Walking and kayaking from the Rio Paraguay in the north to Tierra del Fuego in the south, I will take photographs, video footage and scientific data on the biodiversity, water quality and human coastal activities along my way. In some areas, land to sea transects (perpendicular to the route) will be conducted to better document nearshore coastal wildlife. As outreach, the voyage (which is expected to take roughly six months to complete) will be broadcast on a blog/vlog based website. Images, video, exciting finds and day to day occurrences will be logged daily onto this site as well as promoted to both U.S. and Argentine schools, some of the latter of which will be visited during the voyage.
At the completion of the voyage, all images and data will be donated to local conservation and scientific organizations. The daily logs and image highlights will also remain on-line as a permanent digital resource on the region.

Sounds like a great wildlife adventure, but it seems some great ideas are getting lost from lack of votes so if you'll vote for me I will vote for you. Thanks for your idea and vote... Jkava888

This is an incredibly pertinent cause to photograph! Best of luck and you have my "PIC" - please check out my dream of furthering peaceful coexistence between Jews and Arabs in the Middle East. Thanks!!
Good ideas like yours that are not in the Top 100 are nearly impossible to find. This is unfair as many great ideas are hidden. Those of us in the “Sub-100” should work together to promote the best projects of the Sub-100 so that they can be in the Top 100 and be seen. Please vote for best Sub-100s!
You should read Chatwin's book on Patagonia. It is a wonderful place and much deserving. Best of luck, voted.

I like your idea, check out mine and vote for me if you like it. Its about poverty and society in 3rd world countries and how they are controlled, devastated by their governments and western industrialized nations.

I voted for you. May I suggest that you look at some of the dreams different people have posted here (mine is about children) and vote for the ones you like best. If you leave a comment, they can link back to your dream by clicking on your name and you might get a vote. Good luck!
