Minority Languages
Learn about the ten most crucial minority languages/cultures across the globe -- particularly the ones that are rapidly dying out due to modernization and cultural/global immersion.
As an English teacher and travel writer, I've long been fascinated with both verbal and written communication. I would like to identify ten important regions in the world where a minority language is quickly disappearing. I want to understand why and how their native tongue is being lost.
Ultimately, I think this will serve as both a linguistic and cultural study of minority peoples around the world. I hope to come away with a better understanding of the important modes of communication on this globe and answer this important question:
"Can world peace and cultural heterogeneity be mutually exclusive, or must it be achieved at the expense of dying minority languages to form a universal, global tongue?"

This is perfect.
Tibetan is an amazing language, and Tibet is suffering from cultural genocide. I hope you can touch upon that, though I hear the Chinese government has cracked down terribly on Tibet since last year's demonstrations & is not letting tourists in or Tibetans out of Tibet.
This is a great Idea! Check mine out too and if you like it...return the vote! Mine is about exposing a fatal conflict taking place in the Congo.
You have my vote, If you get the chance, check out my dream "From Australia With Love" and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE vote for it!
Thanks.
