Re-documenting Art History
Traveling to key areas (Egypt, Greece, Mesopotamia...) to re- photograph historic art relics or sites. Not limited to cave paintings in France, Pyramids and tombs in Egypt, Goddess figures in Mesopotamia.
My dream is to travel abroad and create NEW images for students studying art history. Whenever I study about relics, paintings, etc... a visual aid helps to envision ones-self there and to envision the artist. Numerous ancient civilizations have been discovered and every one of them carries with them some sort of artistic story. For example, Egyptians painted out their daily lives, religious beliefs and messages to one another on walls. Pyramids and tombs were constructed, as well as monumental rock carvings and temples. Most of the photos used today as slides in our children's art history classes are somewhat dated and no longer current.
It is my hope that by re-photographing these ancient artistic treasures, new generations of art students will become inspired to research, and appreciate all various types of art. Also, it would be my hope that they would be able to appreciate a culture that may be long gone or drastically changed as the years have gone by.
While Egypt is my main emphasis mentioned here, that is NOT the only area that needs new documentation of relics. Greece, Mesopotamia, Israel, France and numerous other countries are also in need. I would plan to review and discuss areas with my prior art history professors to see what area seems to be in "most" need of this type of aid. To service the art world, I would be willing to go where ever I would be needed.

My degrees involved a lot of that ancient history. There is so much to photograph! You could spend a life time! Good luck - you have my vote and my best wishes.
