Out There...
I will set up a nonprofit to bring photography to needy children across the globe in attempt to capture our world through their eyes. As I travel, I will seek to capture the essence of their cultures, people, and landscapes.
My dream assignment is directly inspired by the movie, Born Into Brothels and founder of Kids with Cameras, Zana Briski.
I would like to either set up my own nonprofit like Kids with Cameras, or work in conjunction with Kids with Cameras to travel the globe and work with children in need, giving them cameras and showing them the importance of their perspective on life. I would myself be photographing select children from around the globe that participate in the program, their families, cultures, communities. I will seek to capture the essence of their cultures, people, and landscapes.

I like it, I like it lots! Good luck, though with such a good idea it's more a question of whether or not the judges are impressed with and able to realize the genius the idea as I am!

I'm setting up a similar project in Nepal (www.flickr.com/photos/fair_chance). It's so much fun to do! I also posted my idea, but found out that non-US residents weren't able to compete. Major disappointment.

Hi Renee! Just saw your comment on the DPS website. I think our assignments are pretty similar and I hope at least one of us will make it to the final group (though realistically it is hard to imagine now). Here is my vote for you.
Good ideas like yours that are not in the Top 100 are nearly impossible to find. This is unfair as many great ideas are hidden. Those of us in the “Sub-100” should work together to promote the best projects of the Sub-100 so that they can be in the Top 100 and be seen. Please vote for best Sub-100s!
