Myanmar - Yearning to Breathe
Myanmar is a beautiful country with a population overcoming a terrible typhoon, battling an oppressive government, striving against the poverty of a third world nation. These people smile, and strive for peace within themselves...why?
I would like to travel to the former Burma and show the world these wonderful people. They struggle every day of their lives against many barriers that are in their way. What lessons could we learn in our nation and communities from the every day life of these good folks?
From the beautiful vistas near Inle Lake to the land laid waste by Typhoon Nargis, I would like to document as much as I can of what this country has to offer. Perhaps in some small way, we can move the United Nations and United States toward being more proactive for these people, rather than casting them off as beneath our lofty gaze.
