Our Wave Kissed World...

I want to find the beauty of our oceans while shedding some light on the issues of the planet as well as the solutions that are happening. I feel this deep burning need to use my life to help this planet and the people on this planet.

The ocean is many things to many people. For some the ocean is a place to relax and play, for others it is a means of survival. For me it is a way of life. I have always lived by the ocean, and for 10 years I lived on the water in a sailboat with my parents. These experiences have shaped me into the person I am today.

My dream as I am graduating college with a degree in visual journalism is to tell the stories of the ocean and the people who connect with the ocean. I want to capture the importance of this one-of-kind resource in an effort to call people to action.

I would spend one year going to some of the most vital places in the sea such as The Artic and The Great Barrier Reef. I want to travel to populated places like Hawaii and to the faraway places like Andavadoaka, Madagascar where typically nomadic populations are settling and groups like Blue Ventures are coming in to help them manage their resources. I want to capture the beautiful seascapes, the locals, the tourists, the surfers, and the coral reefs that are slowly becoming a thing of the past.

I want to find the beauty and good of our oceans while shedding some light on the issues of the planet as well as the solutions that are happening. I feel this deep burning need to use my life to help this planet and the people on this planet.

Using all of these materials I would get the information out to the world through books, images, magazines, and multimedia in a loud way that lets people know what needs to be done and how to do it.
