Crossing borders
I will Photograph the route followed by immigrants from the American Continent in their journey to reach the United States. The photographic journey will begin in the southern Mexico border to the northern Mexico border and into the U.S.
Immigration has been a human reaction to negative living conditions for as long as we can remember. We; as a human race have tried to escape from famine, drought, war, oppression, poverty, just to name a few, in order to pursuit better living conditions for our families. Many people travel to the United States of America in order to find better living conditions for themselves and their loved ones. Oftentimes their journey is a perilous one.
I will begin in the southern Mexico border, following the route of the train dubbed as "el tren de la muerte", the train of death. Aptly named this because many immigrants from Central America lose their lives during the journey that will take them into the United States. Much of the way is hard for them, not only due to the conditions that they have to face but many times because of the people they meet along the way. Many of these immigrants are stuck in Mexico, some for a few months some for a few years, some for life. The journey that these immigrants take is in order to better their lives, but many times I have wondered if the idea of a better life is a misconception. Many times they leave their children and all of their family behind, sometimes they come in groups, therefore they have a little support between them and they can rely on each other.
Having spent some time on buses in Central America and southern Mexico, I became acquainted with several individuals who were kind enough to share their story and really made me want to do something about it. I believe that this is a small way in which we can all be more aware and knowledgeable of some of the injustices in the world that are happening in our own backyard. Many times people think of immigration as being a problem, but really it is only a social response to adverse changes in our living environment.

It is a good idea. You are a brave man, maybe you can help people see the reality of the situation. Follow your dreams!!!!!
You are a very good photographer and I think this project can open the eyes of a lot of people, specially those who think that immigrating into this country is a piece of cake. It will also give a voice to all of those whose lives have been lost and unaccounted for on the Mexico-Guatemala border.
Muy buena idea!
You would be the best man for this job. You connect with people in a deeper level and your photograhps are the living proof of that. You would bring people´s stories to life. It is time we do that!

You've got my vote ... Will you check mine out and give me a vote? Hang in there!

Unite against the “network” that is scheming votes. Support ideas that are “lost” due to unworthy ideas using low tactics. “Insulin” is not the best idea. Something is wrong here and many fantastic ideas are getting lost due to the “network.” If you like my idea on “Vanishing Cultures,” vote for it.
I love this idea! check out mine and Pic it if youd like! Congo here I come...
