Family: The Cornerstone of Humananity
In a world plagued with uncertainty the family stands as the cornerstone of our civilization. Family is a force so powerful that it exceeds all human borders, all oceans and it is the one link connecting us all to one another. While in Iraq
I watched as prisoners were released to their families waiting on the roadside. The emotional reunion of family was undeniably and emotionally touching.
My goal is to photograph what we share common through family moments around the world. I will focus on one family in five countries. Through world contacts that I have I will make connections to find "ordinary" people to portray their country.
Whether it is a moment of laughter through the face of a five-year-old, the celebration of gathering the harvest, or the toothless old grandfather during Sunday dinner my goal is to portray our humanness in family.
I will accomplish this story about family by incorporating multimedia of images and sound. My goal is to create a comprehensive work of art and photojournalism to be exhibited online and published.
My experiences have made me determined to help spread the love in our world through images that communicate the common denominator we share as humans. As my dream assignment I am dedicated to spending the next year to create a powerful and personable story about family around the world.
Countries may include but are not limited to: USA, Chile, Iran, Russia, Congo, India, Iraq, Pakistan and China.
